    SPECIFIC RULES

The SPLED – the Professional Union of Boat Lessors on the DRONNE

informs you that the trips proposed are classified in category 1 (easy).

Article 1 :

The Dronne river is both private and public. The landed estates with or without any construction are mainly private; likewise all the riverside works and buildings, overflows and mills; only the water is public. Consequently, it is the users’ duty to respect the different places, the river, the owners and anglers. It is strictly forbidden to stop on the dams. The renters shall use the ways intended for that. We ask you to respect the environment and wildlife and not to throw rubbish into the water or onto the banks. Dustbins are at your disposal at departure and arrival areas.

Article 1(a) :

During your trip, stopping, getting out and (or) in the boats, emptying them, walking on the banks, in the river and on the small islands,

Is strictly forbidden

Except to give someone else assistance or when your own life is in danger (if you are trapped under a tree and under water for example) or when you are on public or authorized (or even tolerated) areas.
In every other case, if you do not meet these obligations, you shall be responsible with the owners and possibly juridically.
When renting a boat, you shall accept the present rules; if you do not agree, you shall refrain from sailing.

Article 2 :

While renting a boat per hour or for trips, the renters shall be responsible as soon as the equipment is personally given to them.

Article 3 :

Every renter is strictly liable for the use of the equipment when getting in or out onto any public or authorized private land.

Article 4 :

Rentals take effect as soon as the equipment is given to renters until they take it back to the organizer at the end of the allotted time or the chosen trips.

Article 5 :

Canoeing and kayaking are risky activities. Even if the risk is minor on the DRONNE river, renters shall be able to swim at least 25 metres and dive for their safety and the safety of those who are with them. The under-18s are under their parents’ or their legal representatives’ charge. Wearing a life jacket is compulsory.

Article 6 :

During trips, renters might have to walk in the river at some places (portage on the authorized or public spaces, and to give someone assistance if necessary). So renters shall wear shoes to avoid deep cuts that might be caused by various materials (iron, glass, stones, etc.…) – they shall never leave barefoot. Renters’ clothes must be adapted to the practice conditions.

Article 7 :

The (public) dams can be slippery because of the silt and renters might fall and hurt themselves. They shall be careful when holding the boats.

Article 8 :

The dams can be dangerous when the water level is high. In this case, it is strictly forbidden to get over them but renters can follow a recommended route with a canoeing and kayaking state-qualified guide according to the prices in effect. In every other case, groups under a third organization’s charge shall be supervised by canoeing and kayaking state-qualified guides and on request for adults.

Article 9 :

Users shall pay for everything they break or lose. The loss or damage cost will be invoiced according to the prices posted in the establishment and in full view of customers.

Article 10 :

The managers of the establishment reserve the right to cancel the trips in case weather and sailing conditions are bad.

Article 11 :

All the renters shall accept the present rules and especially the articles 1 .1/a .5 and 6 which involve their responsibility and bona fides.
